Even if you do not watch the BBC channels, but still watch TV, you That's always been the case. But since September 2016, you'll also need a licence to watch catch-up services on BBC iPlayer. You'll usually only need one TV Licence for a household – but if you've got a second home, you'll need a separate licence. If you only watch time-shifted stuff on iPlayer then you don't need a licence. If you use it to watch the BBC live then you do.
